Hi, Coach Brandy here. Somewhere inside you, there is a dream that refuses to let go. A quiet whisper from God reminding you that your life has purpose. This is You Have a Dream Living with Purpose Podcast. Welcome back, peeps. I'm Life Coach Brandy, and this is You Have a Dream Living with Purpose Podcast. Today we'll be diving into the topic that hits home for so many of us. Purpose over perfection. Because your calling doesn't quite require perfection. No, it doesn't. It requires participation. I'll talk about different different differences between striving to be perfect and showing up with purpose, even when things aren't perfect, because that's where growth really happens. While we're here, make sure you click the follow button so you don't miss an episode. You can also subscribe and do a donation if you'd like. So perfection whispers you're not ready yet. It keeps us polishing, editing, waiting for approval that never comes, but purpose says, show up as you are, and that's enough. Be intentional. This is a mindset shift that will break the cycle of endless polishing, procrastination, and burnout instead of aiming for flawless results. You become more focused on your core intentions. So being intentional instead of trying to be perfect is a big difference because when we have uh perfection on our mind, it lets that little negative Nancy in there that says you're not good enough. But you are. So you have to be intentional and live with purpose and know what your purpose is. When we feel our lives and live intentionally, you will see progress and forward motion towards your purpose. Remember, we are perfectly imperfect. Perfection is rarely an asset, instead, it's a hidden trap that corrodes even the best of intentions. When we have the illusion of flawlessness, perfection is truly unattainable. So when we thrive to be perfect, it creates that harsh inner critic voice. So in turn, you're never satisfied. Like I said, that negative Nancy or negative Nick that gets in there that tells you that you can't. But what are you supposed to say instead of I can't? I wonder. So when we are so dissatisfied with our life or with that trying to be perfect, um, it can lead to paralysis, procrastination, the fear of failing. It will keep you from starting or finishing what you are wanting to become or create. A lot of perfectionists burn out. So you work and work and you push yourself until it's just unsustainable, until you're now diminishing and sacrificing your own well-being. So it ought so it often, it's often a fear that hides behind perfection. Fear of judgment, rejection, or failure. But when you let go of perfection, you make room for progress. So ask yourself, where am I waiting for perfect before I move forward? So now, purpose of the imperfect. When you shift your priorities and prioritize purpose, your relationship with your inner critic changes. You need to focus on impact over aesthetics. You don't need to be pristine or perfect to serve your purpose. Progress is the forward motion to become who you are meant to be. You become more important and personal. Growth is more intentional. Remember, God loves those small little movements. He loves motion. Embracing that you are enough allows your mindset to shift to a more positive outlook of yourself and of the world around you. Embrace your journey. You then begin to value the process and the effort as well as the growth that comes with making mistakes and learning from them. So when we embrace purpose in the imperfect, you anchor yourself to a meaningful why. So I have a chart today, it says remember your why. So your why is your flaws become part of your story, not what holds you back. Transforming this pursuit of perfection into authentic purpose-driven growth. So one, let's let's taking a so one is taking an imperfect step to generate momentum. Remember God loves those small steps. Two, being authentic and intentional resonates. Human connection and deep impact are built on authenticity, intentionality, and also vulnerability, and just being relatable. Relief. You will feel relief from unrealistic pressures that you have put on yourself. Striving for perfection can cause you stress and anxiety that is truly unnecessary and also unhealthy. Focus on your core values, learning from your mistakes, and simply moving forward reduces. Before we continue, it's time to take a dream moment. Take a breath for just a second. Think about the dream that's been placed in your heart. Maybe it's something big, maybe it's something quiet that only you and God know. But if that dream is still there, it's there for a reason. So keep walking in faith, keep taking the next step, and trust. Purpose grows one day at a time. Now, let's get back to the episode. It reduces that burden of unreachable expectations. Your purpose doesn't need to be polished. The world doesn't need you to be perfect, it needs you to be present. The more human you are, the more relatable purpose becomes. And the more intentional you are and authentic you are, people will see that. So when you when you free yourself from the pressure, transformative mindset means anchoring your daily life, knowing your why. This will allow you for genuine growth and calmness. It's also healthier for you when you're not stressed and when you don't have anxiety about being perfect. It's okay to be perfectly imperfect. Nobody's perfect, and it's okay. We still love you and we admire you for trying and trying again. And as long as you're authentic and relatable, you will have people respect you and be your cheerleaders. So focus on your anchor, the why. When you align yourself with your why, you're allowing daily growth, intentionality, and authentic mindset to live your purpose. Give yourself permission to be a work in progress. So right now, I would really like you to take a deep breath. We're gonna reflect from pressure to peace. Take a deep breath. Picture yourself holding a heavy bag labeled perfect. Now gently set it down. Whisper, I choose perfect instead. I nope, nope, nope. I choose purpose instead. Feel the relief in your shoulders and the space in your chest. This is a moment perfection loses its power and peace takes its place. Your authenticity and your intentionality takes its place. Grab your journal and let's reflect. Number one, what has perfection kept me from starting or finishing? Number two. How can I honor progress instead of perfection this week? Number three. What would I do differently if I believed that done is better than perfect? Let this be your mantra. I'm allowed to learn as I go. Because purpose doesn't demand performance. It invites participation. At the end of your week, write down one thing you did imperfectly and celebrate it anyway. We love celebrations, right? So I want you to release perfection and embrace progress. My purpose is enough and so am I. That's your positive affirmation for the week, and I will say it again. I release perfection and embrace progress. My purpose is enough, and so am I. So thank you for joining. Purpose over perfection. Remember, grace grows where perfection ends.
